Detox in a glass. Over 5 servings of fruits and veggies in one glass. Makes you feel zingy!
1/4 piece lemon, mostly peeled
1 inch piece of fresh ginger, mostly peeled
1 apple or pear, cored and cut
1 peeled orange or 2 peeled clementines
3 cups fresh raw spinach
stevia or honey (to taste)
1 cup water plus 1/2 cup ice
Layer ingredients in the blender in this order:
start by turning your blender on low speed for about 10 seconds then slowly increase speed to high so the larger and more firm ingredients get pulled down into the blade. Blend on high about a minute until all the little bits are smooth.
add sweetener to taste and blend a bit more. I enjoy drinking over ice with a straw. If pulp bothers you and you prefer a thinner texture, add a little water and strain it through a sieve.
sometimes I make a double batch and keep the rest in a sealed mason jar in the fridge for the next day! 🍋
